The Sarah Markham Saxophone Award.Awarded each year to an outstanding student.

The 2020 recipient of the Sarah Markham Saxophone Award is Jasmine Brown. Jasmine studied with me at the Royal College of Music Junior Department from 2014. In September Jasmine begins her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in September with a full scholarship. She receives a cash award from me, saxophone reeds from Vandoren, a voucher from the Yamaha London shop, and a piece of solo saxophone music from Saxtet Publications.

The Ralph Markham Achievement Award.Awarded to a student in recognition of their personal achievements and development.

The 2020 recipient of the Ralph Markham Achievement Award is Rosemary Ball. Rosemary has shown remarkable achievements in the last year. Having passed her grade 7 with distinction (2019) Rosemary is delving into more modern music and aspects of techniques, performing works such as Yoshimatsu’s Fuzzy Bird and Lauba’s Balafon; repertoire that would challenge many final year degree students. She receives a cash award from me, saxophone reeds from Vandoren, a voucher from the Yamaha London shop, and a piece of solo saxophone music from Saxtet Publications.

Many thanks to Vandoren, Yamaha and Saxtet Publications for their support.
